Job Description

  • Under general direction,inspects work areas and,equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety,policies and regulations.
  • Develops and implementing safety policies and procedures for the region,Conducts and documents safety inspections and audits to identify,potential hazards and recommend corrective procedures.
  • Provides training,and education on safety practices to employees, including onboarding and,training of new safety technicians.
  • Investigates accidents, incidents,and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive,measures.
  • Collaborates with management and employees to promote a safety,culture.
  • Monitors compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Analyzes safety data and preparing reports on safety performance.
  • Maintains all files and records including material safety data sheets,and other paperwork ensuring compliance.
  • May be responsible for,hazardous material program, assuring all hazardous materials are,received, handled, shipped, stored, labeled, and disposed of in,accordance with company and government regulations.
  • May interface with,regulatory agencies. Participates in safety meetings and committees to,address safety concerns.
  • Identifies and addressing emerging safety,issues and trends. Keeps up-to-date with safety regulations and industry,best practices.
  • Assists in safety audits outside of assigned region.,Serves as Safety Review council member.

 

 

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A two-year degree or equivalent is preferred. Requires 5-8 years related experience.

Requires understanding and ability to train others in company, state and federal safety policies and regulations. Travel required to RDC / LDC locations. Must be able to effectively interpret the policies and objectives of the company. Able to train others in correct use of safety equipment. Must have the ability to perform control calculations. Must be able to produce quality, accurate work. Must be able to detect and correct errors. Requires effective written and verbal communication. Requires ability to navigate a computerized data entry system or other relevant applications.
